Data Center Management and Help Desk Support

back

A major St. Paul Performing Arts organization engaged CRC-ASPEx to evaluate their existing Data Center Management and Help Desk Support function within their organization. Management concerns included:

Was customer service provided to internal employees meeting management expectations?

Were servers and hardware being adequately maintained and efficiently utilized?

Was employee productivity being impacted by use of multiple versions of desktop software?

Was PC support being provided efficiently and effectively?

Was all available software being used by the organization?

Because they are a non-profit organization, we helped them acquire software that was made available at no-charge by Microsoft. We are working on the implementation of this software to enable them to use state of the art software in their operations.

After evaluation and discussions with senior management, we concluded that Data Center Operations would remain on-site. Our client engaged us to provide onsite PC support and network/server management. Using our Help Desk Operation, all support requests are recorded and dispatched to our onsite staff. Additional staff from our organization can be dispatched when required. In addition, we are restructuring how applications are deployed on existing server equipment to achieve server efficiencies and effective backup strategies. We have created a strategic plan for IT and are assisting them with the implementation of the projects contained within this plan. We are deploying new applications consistently across the organization, to enhance user productivity. The network and associated servers are being maintained and patched as necessary. Through improvements in the IT infrastructure we have been able to focus our attention on the implementation of high-value applications for their business use.
